Altaria, I choose you (for hugs)
Alright, you know the drill. The Pokémon Center Japan has just announced a new life-size Pokémon plush, and this one's really cute. Everyone get in line, and start emptying out your pockets.
The newest addition to the giganto-plush line is Altaria, the Gen 3 fluff-bird that is literally described as being surrounded by "cotton-like clouds" and having "soft wings". There could not be a more perfect candidate for a big, huggable boi.
How big are we talking? 6.5kg of fluff, and dimensions of 96 x 131 x 90cm. He big. Unfortunately, he is not actually made of cotton like his description says — he's made of polyester and polyurethane foam balls. For delivery, however, he'll be squished down to a vacuum-packed parcel of just 85 x 75 x 67cm. Surely the sight of him emerging from a vacuum-pack bag is worth the admission price alone?
Like most of the mega-plushes before it, Altaria is currently only available for pre-order on the Pokémon Center Japan, where the fluffy lad costs 55,000 yen (around $380 / £340), and will be made to order and shipped out in May 2023. These plushes tend to come to the West a couple of months after the Japanese release, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that this very good use of our hard-earned money will be made available to us soon.

He looks so soft and cuddly but my bedroom is full of Pokèmon Plushes already and I don't really have much room left for more despite my desire to want to buy this.
I love how they’re giving so many underrated Pokémon the giant plush treatment and not just the usual favorites like Charizard.

Altaria is a personal favourite of mine from Hoenn and to see it get the attention it deserves is always welcome.
Just....don't stick it in the wash.
This is the first one of these I have been tempted by. It's so......cute.
Maybe I'm the only one who sees a soulless bird with eyes that penetrate into oblivion lol.
Okay Nintendo really should get on the plush wagon and announce a freaking life-sized Bowser plush!
Edit: Hell, have them (The Pokémon Company) announce a life-sized Charizard plush, as that one could probably come close to having a Bowser one.
A normal sane person wouldn't buy this, a sane person would buy this
I want the "life sized" plush so badly but there is no reasonable way to justify paying that much. Such is life...
@booeygirl I feel the same. With some of the other ones I was pretty meh but this one is glorious.
For once I can say it's a good time to not have a girlfriend who loves Pokemon.

Appears a nice idea, but I think The Pokemon Center might have an Altaria motive to releasing this.
If only it came in a big pokeball.
