The following are excerpts from the Bourne Police Department logs dated Friday, October 7, through Wednesday, October 12.

Police said that officers were aware of an active warrant out of Falmouth District Court for Peter R. Kinslow, 33. The warrant charged Mr. Kinslow with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Mr. Kinslow was arrested at his residence without incident at 9:57 AM on Wing Road in Pocasset, booked at the Bourne police station, and later taken to Falmouth District Court for arraignment, police said.

At 3:53 AM, an arrest was made on Sandwich Road, just past the Bourne Bridge rotary. Police said an officer on patrol saw a red 2020 Volkswagen Jetta enter the rotary from the bridge at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to fishtail. The officer followed the car onto Sandwich Road where it was stopped. The driver was identified as Joao V. DeSouza Pires, 19, from Marstons Mills. Mr. DeSouza Pires spoke Portuguese, so the officer used a translation app to communicate. The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana, and Mr. DeSouza Pires admitted to having smoked pot. Roadside assessments were held, and the officer determined Mr. DeSouza Pires to be impaired. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs; speeding, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Bail was set at personal recognizance, plus the $40 administrative fee. He was later released to the custody of a sober party, police said.

Police made an arrest at 4:16 AM on Barlows Landing Road. Police said an officer on patrol saw a blue 2009 Subaru Forester in the parking lot of the Bourne Water District. The car’s lights were on and the driver’s side door open, and it appeared that the driver had recently vomited, police said. The officer entered the parking lot and spoke with the driver, identified as Benjamin T. Jackson, 25, from Pocasset. Mr. Jackson said he was all right, but the officer detected slurred speech and a strong odor of both alcohol and marijuana, police said. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, second offense, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was later released on personal recognizance after paying the $40 administrative fee, police said.

Police executed a warrant arrest at 7:02 PM on High Ridge Drive in Bournedale. Police said that officers knew of two active warrants out of Falmouth District Court for Dylan C. White, 23. The warrants both charged Mr. White with operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, police said. He was arrested and booked, and later released on personal recognizance after paying the $40 administrative fee, police said.

At 9:49 PM, police made an arrest at the intersection of Shearwater Drive and Puffin Circle in Cataumet. Police said an officer responded to a call from the Courtyard Restaurant on Route 28A reporting that a bartender had shut off a patron who came and ordered a drink. The patron left in a brown 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck and exited onto County Road, police said. The officer followed and stopped the vehicle at Puffin Circle, police said. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol and marijuana, and the driver, identified as Kevin McCann, 39, from Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, failed a field sobriety test, police said.

Police said there were two plastic containers holding marijuana, plus a bowl with burnt marijuana, inside the truck. Mr. McCann was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, 7th offense, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. Bail was set at $1,000, and Mr. McCann was unable to pay his bail. He was held and taken to Falmouth District Court for arraignment the next morning, police said.

An arrest was made on Sandwich Road, just past the Bourne Bridge, at 1:42 AM. Police said an officer on patrol at the south rotary conducted a random query of a brown 2007 Ford Fusion. The Registry of Motor Vehicles indicated that the car was not inspected. The officer pursued the car, which was now speeding on Sandwich Road, police said. The car was eventually stopped, and the officer reported a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was identified as Akime A. Gillespie, 29, from Hyannis.

Mr. Gillespie produced a Jamaican driver’s license and said the vehicle belonged to his brother, so he did not have the car’s registration. Mr. Gillespie exited the vehicle for roadside assessments, police said, and it was determined that he was under the influence of drugs. An inventory of his car uncovered three 1-pound vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs; possession to distribute a Class D drug; speeding; no inspection/sticker; and registration not in possession. Bail was set at $500, and he was later released to a sober party after posting bail, police said.
